As a wildlife photographer, you sometimes have to face bad weather, or work somewhere dust, sand or (salty) water could affect your gear. Decent lens protection makes a real difference in these conditions, and a rain cover offers the most complete protection for your camera and lens.

Which rain cover fits my lens?

• Lens Rain Cover 1 — for 70-200/300mm lenses, in Brown, Snow or plain Black, black-coated inside to cut reflections.
• Lens Rain Cover 2 — for longer super-telephoto lenses, same Brown, Snow or Black options.
• Stealth Gear Extreme Raincover — waterproof micro-suede with a DuPont Teflon coating, in sizes from 79cm (covering 300-400mm or 300-500mm lenses) up to 103cm (covering lenses up to 800mm).

Our own Lens Rain Cover range uses the same strong, waterproof fabric as our photo hides and is camouflaged on the outside in four patterns; the Stealth Gear Extreme range focuses on premium waterproofing for the longest, heaviest telephoto lenses.

Other protection: camouflage wrap

Green camouflage wrap tape can be wound around a lens hood, tripod leg or spotting scope to break up shiny or unnaturally coloured surfaces, adding a lightweight extra layer of camouflage without a full cover.

Frequently asked questions

Which size rain cover do I need?
Match the cover to your lens's focal length and physical length — check the specific size range for each cover before ordering, since a cover made for a shorter lens will not fit a longer one.

Do these covers work with a tripod-mounted lens?
Yes, rain covers are designed to fit over a lens while it remains mounted on a tripod or gimbal, usually with an opening for the tripod collar.
